Can you believe it’s already at Christmas!!! Here at XV we’re all about being cosy. We’ve been getting all our treats ready for gift-giving just in time for the man with the bag. So if you’re up for a spot of seasonal home shopping, grab a basket and browse our gorgeous, colourful, warming goodies.
Here at XV, in between visiting fairs and shows, we’ve worked hard to bring out a range of snug blankets and throws in time for winter, as well as delightful table linen to get your homes all set for having family over for those long-awaited gatherings.
We spent a fair bit of October on local beaches running around in the autumn sun, as photographer Holly Joliffe snapped our new blankets. On one shoot, Izzey got chatting to a local fisherman all about beach life and fishing facts. We still have the photos…
Frankly, we needed all the space a beach could offer. Our Compton and Yarmouth blankets are huge, comfy creations so they needed lots of space! We’ve gone back to our colour roots using signature XV blues: Yarmouth is in our classic blue stripe, while Compton (named after our island’s well-known surfing beach) was designed by Vicky as an abstract wave in three-tone blues and whites. You’ll see a slightly different hue for each blanket, due to the unique weave. They are utterly toasty and perfect for bed, couch or boat.
They’re also very big, extremely soft (even though they’re made from recycled cotton fibres) and completely washable – Izzey has already popped hers in the washing machine on a low wool wash!
Prefer a traditional weave? For our Shetland Wool Striped Blankets we found a three-generation wool-weaving family, who still use old looms and traditional methods. They helped us choose the coastal colours for our Lambswool Herringbone blankets – five natural dyes, each with a feathered hem. At 184cm x 148cm these are ideal for snuggling, beaching or wrapping around your waist while you take a coffee out on the deck.
All our blankets are brilliant squishy, and customer feedback is that they’re wonderful against the skin and excellent quality too. Take note though, for some of our products we’ve just a limited range, so get in there while you can.
